25 Sep 2006 @ 01:01 by jerryvest : Me too, thanks for letting us know
about this petition. In New Mexico it is still legal to have cock fights as those who hold on to these traditions don't value chickens as having any value or purpose but to fight and be eaten for 'man's' pleasure.
25 Sep 2006 @ 21:37 by nemue : Thank you
Thank you Jerry and Astrid. Jerry until we learn to value all life, we, as humans have no value. Some day I pray that people will recognise this.
Please, if you haven't signed this petition - at least consider it and then let your heart and compassion lead you.
25 Sep 2006 @ 22:00 by jerryvest : For sure, I signed the petition and will
hope that others will do likewise. These macho, so called sports, are disgusting and lack any sensitivity and compassion for life. What's wrong with these people who enjoy watching animal cruelty? I think they are sick and unconscious. Don't they have anything better to do with their lives? Perhaps they should put themselves in the hide of these bulls and allow themselves to be tortured by a matador for a few minutes.

People who find pleasure /excitement in Bull fights ( or any other kind of animal "sports" ) are the most pathetic idiots on the Planet and deserve to be tortured and slaughtered slooooowly, veeery slowly, in the same manner as the torture of animals they so enjoyed!
Well, today, I'm not quite as upset as yesterday... so I don't REALLY wish evil upon anybody 'for real'... only wishing they would REALLY UNDERSTAND the suffering their self indulgence causes other FEELING Sentient Beings!
27 Sep 2006 @ 21:31 by nemue : We have our answer
I am very sad to say that it appears that people really don't care all that much. We have only added a handful of signatures to this petition despite the fact that it has been published on a number of sites, not to mention this one.
I guess for many there are more important things to care about – but in my view (which doesn’t appear to count for much) we are diminished as people when we stand by and turn a blind eye.
I will say no more. I tried..
3 Oct 2006 @ 14:49 by jerryvest : I like what you say, Nemue, so
do continue to help others awaken to animal sport, abuse and cruelty. It is unfortunate that more of our colleagues do not sign the petition and join this effort, but people are slow to get involved in "right action."
Here is an interesting link to some helpful ideas for parents to guide their children in prevention of cruelty to animals. [link]

link, Jerry. Thanks! ( I still wish you were my Gran'Pa! ; ) )))
