Yeah... out in the woods, today, sitting on a big rock out in the middle of the fast flowing stream. Snowpaw was running around in the forest chasing things that only he could see...

In the depths of the pool at the edge of the rock, deep... cold, bubbles kept rising. Big ones, little ones, rising... rising... pop!

Rather like the 'Evolution of Planets... '

A clean break with the time track and the whole track warrants you... bliss! So Hung, Hung So.

The All New Archetype (Orisha) Crossword Puzzle20 comments

Today I had a hard time finding something to do that I never did before (I try to find something new every single day to beat the routine way of thinking, yeknow).

Our daughter's sudden love for crosswords inspired me to create one of those. Amongst all the "free" downloads that don't yield free programs after all (what a shame!), I found a crossword generator that is really FREE (ware): Eclipse Crossword. Very recommendable!

Here is the Orisha/Ifa puzzle: printable and here the online version...  More >

The New Species of Man 2 comments

While I was taking a walk, I noticed a fair at the other side of the park. I stopped and watched people on the fair rides. One ride was shaped like a boat that swung round until it turned upside down. It reminded me of a ride I went on years ago at Margate called "Mary Rose." I could hear people screeching inside.

Another ride swung from side to side then went as high as the top of the trees. I noticed a boy was eating a sandwich during the ride. What a cool cat!  More >

Renewing energy in Alicante (Spain)17 comments

I've spent a beautiful week in Alicante, located on the Spanish East coast. The tourists that visit this area usually go to the most touristy spot: Benidorm, full of beaches and pubs. But Alicante has many other interesting places, less crowded and worthy to be visited: Altea, Calpe, Guadalest, Jal√≥n... I invite you to travel there with me through this article and have a look by yourself :-).  More >

 Noah in 20060 comments
11 Jun 2006 @ 02:26, by nemue. Recreation, Fun
In the year 2006, the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in the United States, and said, "Once again, the earth has become wicked beyond belief, and I see the end of all flesh before me.

Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with the few true believers that exist."

He gave Noah the blueprints, saying, "You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard - but no Ark. "Noah!" He roared, "I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark?"

"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed.

I needed a building permit. I've been arguing with the inspector about the need for a sprinkler system.

My neighbors claim that I've violated the neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision.

Then the Department of Transportation demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark's move to the sea I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it.

Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls - but no go! When I started gathering the animals, an animal rights group sued me. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodation was too restrictive, and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space.

Then the EPA ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood.

I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on how many minorities and illegal immigrants I'm supposed to hire for my building crew.

Immigration and Naturalization is checking the green-card status of most of the people who want to work. The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only Union workers with Ark-building experience.

To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species.

Forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark."

Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the sky. Noah looked up in wonder and asked, "You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"

"No," said the Lord. "The government beat me to it."

Field of Possibilities and a Possible Solution for World Peace 0 comments

In a field of infinite possibilities, all things are possible including America winning the World Cup, perhaps? And pigs might fly.

In the last few weeks I've been seeing English flags hanging on pub windows and on people's house windows. At first, I thought the BNP (British National Party) was on a massive recruitment campaign, which has to be bad news for a woman of colour like me. It was only later that I realised the flying English flags were part of the buildup to the impending FIFA World Cup. Phew! On second thoughts, football? For a whole month? That's just bloody marvellous that is!

Since everyone has an opinion about football, here's my two pennies worth.  More >

A day at the beach10 comments

The sunny weather today has driven me to go to the beach for the first time in the year, to enjoy this beautiful spring day close to the sea. I went to Perlora, a village on the Asturias coast, with green meadows and several small beaches.

Here are some photos to bring you the essence of this area in Northern Spain, and a bit of fresh breeze for those of you who live far from the sea :-)  More >
