Why Is the Illusion So Bloody Painful? 0 comments

So I wasn't paying attention where I was going and my shoulder bumped against the edge of the wall. At first it hurt like hell then I immediately reversed the pain by saying to myself that "Love is all there is." The pain instantly vanished.

One could argue that since there is only Love going on and it's all good, any experience not in harmony with Love's intent, such as an injury, is an illusion. In that case, why was the illusion so bloody painful?  More >

Two days ago, I heard in the news that the government are proposing to outlaw cigarette vending machines in order to discourage children from smoking. They are also considering removing cigarettes from shop display. Smokers are protesting that this would infringe on their right to smoke.

I can see both sides of the argument. Although I used to be a staunch anti-smoker, I also very much respected the right of the smoker, as long as they weren't smoking near me. When I realised cigarettes had no power to harm me, I wasn't bothered any more; though I did prefer to be in smoke-free environments. Smoking has now been banned in all public places in England. Banning cigarettes vending machines does seem a bit extreme. Surely, smokers do have the right to have access to their cigarettes?  More >

"For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." -- John 1: 17

Yesterday I read a report about the actress, Sharon Stone's comment about the recent Chinese earthquake.

"I'm not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans, because I don't think anyone should be unkind to anyone else," Stone, a prominent supporter of the Dalai Lama and Tibetan rights, told Hong Kong's Cable Entertainment News Thursday at an event during the Cannes Film Festival.

"And then this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, is that karma? When you're not nice, that the bad things happen to you?" -- Great Wall Between China and Sharon Stone  More >

My mother's friend passed away recently. When she found out when the funeral was, she wondered how she was going to get to the church and the cemetery.

As I was walking home a few nights ago, a car pulled up beside me and a passenger asked me if I knew where a particular road was. I knew the road was in our neighbourhood but I couldn't remember where exactly. So I apologised and told the man I didn't know where it was. When I arrived home, I asked my mother if she knew where the road was. She said she'd seen it but couldn't remember where.  More >

"Mother," I asked, "why don't you teach others the method of living without food?"

My ambitious hopes for the world's starving millions were nipped in the bud.

"No." She shook her head. "I was strictly commanded by my guru not to divulge the secret. It is not his wish to tamper with God's drama of creation. The farmers would not thank me if I taught many people to live without eating! The luscious fruits would lie uselessly on the ground. It appears that misery, starvation, and disease are whips of our karma which ultimately drive us to seek the true meaning of life."

"Mother," I said slowly, "what is the use of your having been singled out to live without eating?"

"To prove that man is Spirit." Her face lit with wisdom. "To demonstrate that by divine advancement he can gradually learn to live by the Eternal Light and not by food." --- Autobiography of a Yogi

So my mother noticed that one of her many clocks had stopped working. Presumably, the battery had run out. She said she was going to check if she had any spares. The next morning I noticed she hadn't changed the batteries so I figured, why not charge the batteries?

I channelled energy to the batteries and the clock started ticking away. I then corrected the clock. When I showed mum her clock was working she asked me what I'd done.

"I charged the batteries," I said.

Mum gave me that "my daughter is mad" stare that' I've become accustomed to. At least the clock is now working.  More >

I believe there is only One.

The world does not change by me physically doing something, it changes when I am being my true Self, when I am being the One.

As I have written elsewhere:

"There's no need to worry about going out there and doing loving acts or blessing others. All I have to do is go within and love myself and Love takes care of the rest." Charity Begins and Ends at Home

These selected articles are demonstrations of how I am living the principle I believe in. For more articles go to Living as Love-Light.
