2003-10-09 12:37:54 -- Why resurrect Isis?
The world is getting crowded. The world today is an anarchy of nation-states always at war. We need a world social order in which many cultures can live side by side in relative peace and harmony in the "Global Village" that is in our future. We need to create a universal "mosaic" culture of many diverse cultures. We need a universal language in which many cultures can communicate across the linguistic barriers that now divide us. The resurrection of Isis is the best path we have available leading to a peaceful and prosperous multicultural global civilization.
Mother Goddess religion was widespread in the ancient world. It was an early attempt at creating a world wide social order of one-world-family living in peace and harmony. Basically all religions strive for world order. They have all succeeded in some part of the world or other. No other religion or political union has ever been as widespread and successful as was Mother Goddess religion.
All of the "Alexandrian" attempts to create world order by force of arms have resulted in horrendous slaughters of thousands or millions of people, followed always by the oppression and enslavement of thousands or millions more. The smartest smart-bombs cannot create a universal culture or a peaceful world order. Isis was the only conqueror who ever conquered more by love than by war. Her genius and her womb were her "weapons." They worked very well.
About 5000 years ago there was a "Golden Age" when the ruling families of the major powers were members of a royal world-family living in relative peace and harmony. It didn't last long, a few centuries at most. That Golden Age was the nearest thing to a universal culture that this world has ever known. All of the major cultures and major languages of the world today have some roots tracing back to Mother Goddess religion and that Golden Age. We need to begin at that beginning to create a new world order in today's world.
A new world order has to begin with communications. Every culture is embodied in the language it speaks. When a language is lost, that culture is lost. We need to enable natives of New Guinea to communicate with members of the French Academy without people having to give up their native languages and their unique cultures.
Six million people of New Guinea speak 2000 languages. It is unlikely that members of the French Academy will learn 2000 languages in order to communicate with New Guinea. It is unlikely the six million New Guineans will learn 2000 New Guinean languages in order to communicate with their neighbors. In this scenario, all of the diverse cultures (and sub-cultures) of New Guinea are doomed to extinction in the crowded world, Global Village, of the future.
The resurrection of Isis can enable the diverse cultures of New Guinea, and many others, to survive relatively intact in the Global Village. We need, first of all, a social contract of agreeable behavior in a language that everyone understands. "If you don't raid my farm, plunder my granary, steal my cattle, poison my well, murder my parents, rape my wife sisters, and daughters, and drag my children off into slavery; I won't raid your farm, plunder your granary, steal your cattle, poison your well, murder your parents, rape your wife, sisters, and daughters, and drag your children off into slavery." That is the basic social contract upon which all successful civilizations have been built.
The resurrection of Isis can provide us a community where the social contract can work. We now speak about 6000 languages on this planet. If we have a social contract in thousands of languages with millions of lawyers interpreting it, no one will know what the contract is. The resurrection of Isis can provide us a universal language in which everyone can understand the contract.
There are 400 languages spoken in China. Mandarin is the universal language of China. The Chinese speak many languages and dialects, but they all read and write Mandarin. We need a "global Mandarin" language that everyone in the Global Village can read and write. Mandarin is picture writing. Anyone can read pictures.
"Every culture is embodied in the language it speaks." "All of the major cultures and major languages of the world today have some roots tracing back to Mother Goddess religion and that Golden Age." Also, all of the major writing systems of the world today have some roots tracing back to Mother Goddess religion and that Golden Age. We can "mine" a global Mandarin language out of the ancient culture that is already embodied in the languages we speak, and out of the writing systems that we already use.
Contrary to common belief, the modern alphabets this world uses today are not purely phonetic. They're pictographic. The Chinese Mandarin writing system is a complex set of ideograms that requires readers and writers to memorize and draw a large number of characters. Out of the pictographic alphabets that we now use, we can mine and refine an alphabet of 100 or fewer letters that can be used for picture writing in a Mandarin system that doesn't require memorizing thousands of characters.
The Resurrect Isis website is dedicated to promoting a one-world Global Village civilization, and to developing a universal language to serve that civilization.
