MEGATRENDS: Entangling Alliances
 Entangling Alliances4 comments

It was not long ago when my naivete showed me a distorted vision of the world and how my country's leaders conducted their affairs. My family and I had always thought that the President of the United States was working in the best interests of America. Sadly it was later in my life that the blinders were removed from my eyes and I saw the painful truth.

I've seen those like Saddam, Noriega, and other sundry tin-badge despots come and go. They are propped up by our presidents both liberal and conservative, then later assassinated, invaded, or knocked down a peg or two. The media is still used like the right-hand of the government to regurgitate the official white house doctrine and to inoculate the petty-bourgeois. The media is always used to point out the "Goldstein" weeks before his country is invaded or he is assassinated.

Some of them got a taste of power and wanted to keep it for themselves when our government told them to take the money and get on the first thing smoking. Many of the capos like Noriega were not kicking the drug money up to Don H.W. Bush and sooner or later each one of them got whacked or their assets were liquidated. Robert "The Little Prick [link] " Gates who will replace Donald "Rummy" Rumsfeld at the DOD was intimately involved in the Iran-Contra scandal as he was the Deputy Director of Central Intelligence at the time and was nearly indicted.

Saddam Hussein was a pawn of the British empire long before the American government got their hands on him. The white house was overjoyed with Saddam because he kept the dollar standard as OPEC was leaning towards the euro. The infamous picture where Donald Rumsfeld shakes hands with Saddam was during a period of time when the Iraqi leader was using chemical weapons on the Kurds. The friendship came to an end when Saddam wanted to switch from US petro dollars to the euro, also the Saudi government was fearful that Saddam would invade after his recent takeover of Kuwait.

Saddam was on trial for war crimes and he will hang from the neck until dead. Those who provided Saddam with the weapons should hang as well. Bush Co. would not be alone on the gallows. France, Russia, North Korea and others provided Saddam with weapons for inexpensive oil. In future history books you will not know the real reasons why Saddam was dethroned and Iraq was invaded and occupied.

Eisenhower warned us of this Military Industrial Complex. They are far more dominant today. Their roots are so deeply entrenched in our nation that they threaten our national sovereignty. On 9/11 the sound of those planes hitting the twin towers was a cash register for the MIC. G.W. Bush spent $400 billion on defense in fiscal year 2005. The Military Industrial Complex will create terrorists where there isn't any to keep up the defense spending until our economy hits rock bottom.

George Washington was right on the money about staying out of foreign entanglements. We are currently merging with Mexico and Canada, while trying to avoid a war in North Korea and at the same time provoking a war in Iran. There are numerous places in the world today where the CIA are engaging in suspect actions to fill their black bag bank accounts. Our country is embroiled in a global war on "terrorism" but if you look closely enough you would see the fingerprints of numerous administrations from Carter to the current Bush administration fomenting and funding terrorists and mercenaries for their own selfish agenda.
President Carter secretly authorized $500 million to establish an international terrorist movement to destabilize Soviet Russia. This money built radical schools that would turn out Islamic extremists. This project was called "Operation Cyclone [link] ". A joint venture between CIA and Pakistani ISI warped many young minds and coerced them into fighting against the Soviets:

“CIA Director William Casey [gives] his backing to a plan put forward by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, to recruit people from around the world to join the Afghan jihad. More than 100,000 Islamic militants [are] trained in Pakistan between 1986 and 1992, in camps overseen by the CIA and [the British intelligence agency] MI6, with the [British special forces unit] SAS training future al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters in bomb-making and other black arts. Their leaders [are] trained at a CIA camp in Virginia.” --Australian journalist John Pilger [link]

"Eventually more than 100,000 Muslim radicals were to have direct contact with Pakistan and Afghanistan and be influenced by the jihad (holy war). In camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan, these radicals studied, trained and fought together. It was the first opportunity for most to learn about Islamic movements in other countries, and they forged tactical and ideological links. The camps became virtual universities for Islamic radicalism.

Among these recruits was a young Saudi student, Osama bin Laden, the son of a Yemeni construction magnate, Mohammed bin Laden, who was a close friend of the late King Faisal and whose company had become wealthy on the contracts to renovate the holy mosques of Mecca and Medina. Pakistan's ISI had long wanted Prince Turki bin Faisal, the head of the Saudi Intelligence Service, to provide a royal prince to lead the Saudi contingent to show Muslims the commitment of the royal family to the jihad. Only poorer Saudis and Bedouin tribesmen had arrived to fight. Bin Laden, although not a royal, was close enough to the royals and wealthy enough to lead the Saudi contingent." --((09/23/01)Ahmed Rashid [link] )

Bin Laden and his entire network was created and funded by our government. The word "Taliban" means student and they were eager students being trained by the CIA. The U.S. spigot was turned off and on between administrations but there was always a untapped source of revenue right there in Afghanistan:

"Since the mid-1990s, while the spotlight shone on cocaine cartels in Latin America, Bin Laden fortified a drug-trafficking network that provided major revenues for Afghanistan's Taliban regime _ and financed his Al-Qaida network of terrorism.

Bin Laden's commerce in narcotics helped make Afghanistan the world's leading exporter of heroin, some 2,200 pounds of which reached the United States last year, according to the U.S. State Department.

Worth at least $260 million in street value, some of the proceeds from the American heroin sales found their way back to Bin Laden, who stands accused by President Bush of orchestrating the Sept. 11 suicide hijack attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

"What better way to poison the Western world than through drugs," said Donnie Marshall, who headed the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration from July 1999 through June of this year. "It's another weapon in their arsenal."

Yoseff Bodansky, author of a 1999 biography of Bin Laden and director of the congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, said the terrorist kingpin takes a 15 percent cut of the drug trade money in exchange for protecting smugglers and laundering their profits.

"The Afghans are selling 7 to 8 billion dollars of drugs in the West a year," Bodansky said. "Bin Laden oversees the export of drugs from Afghanistan. His people are involved in growing the crops, processing and shipping. When Americans buy drugs, they fund the jihad (holy war)."" -- Drug Trade Filled Coffers of Taliban, Bin Laden Group((09/30/01)James Rosen [link] )

It is plain to see that the multifarious operations by our government must come to an end and if governmental transparency is not on your agenda it should be. Carter's Operation Cyclone, Reagan's executive order 12333 https://www.cia.gov/csi/monograph/firstln/reagan.html allowed the CIA to aid the Mujahideen in fighting the Soviet Union. Bill Clinton finds an ally in Bin Laden in Kosovo:

""By joining hands with the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), which intelligence sources say bankrolls itself by selling heroin and cocaine, the United States also would become partners of a sort with Osama bin Laden, the international terrorist behind last year's bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the Washington Times reports. According to the newspaper's sources, the KLA is linked to an extensive organized crime network headquartered in Albania. In 1998 the State Department listed the KLA as an international terrorist organization that supported itself with drug profits and through loans from known terrorists like bin Laden."

"Such an ally is the result of Bill Clinton choosing sides in a centuries-old civil war. "They were terrorists in 1998 and now, because of politics, they're freedom fighters," a top drug official told the Times. "" --((05/28/99)Daily Oklahoman)

To add insult to injury President George W. Bush and his father had financial ties to the Bin Laden family:

"The former president, the father of President Bush, worked for the bin Laden family business in Saudi Arabia through the Carlyle Group, meeting with them at least twice. The terrorist leader Osama bin Laden had supposedly been “disowned” by his family, which runs a multi-billion dollar business in Saudi Arabia and was a major investor in the senior Bush’s firm. Other reports have stated his Saudi family have not truly cut off Osama bin Laden. " --((04/01/02)Judicial Watch [link] )

Administration after administration, both liberal and conservative have had connections with despots, dictators and terrorists. The rooks need the pawns so the Anglo-American establishment aristocrats can control their grand chessboard:

"Interview with Zbigniew Brzezinski,
President Jimmy Carter's National Security AdviserLe Nouvel Observateur, Paris, 15-21 January 1998

Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didn't believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You don't regret anything today?

B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?"

History will judge whether these men were right. The Russian government today is returning to the old ways under Putin. Whether it is FSB or KGB we may return again in the future to another cold war and with this current batch of politicians who can say what they will do to achieve their goals?

13 Feb 2007 @ 18:40 by vaxen : It is...
so very nice to know that out of an organization which pretends to have thousands of ''members'' one has so very few friends.

Par for the illuminating course we've set for ourselves through delusions many masted schooners on up the line to pretense and an all out presumption that all is...

It's in the code silly, it's in the code!

Revenimus!
