There was a tall good looking young man standing next to my friends when I came up to the line of busses. “Hi” they said as I approached the group of five who were standing amidst crowds of people. “This is Bill Clinton” they said and he held out his hand and smiled. I was dressed in purple, corduroy pants, shirt, cashmere sweater with a corduroy cap on my head, all purple. It was in England in the nineteen sixties. He wore black sweater, open white shirt and black pants. “This is quite a crowd of students, “ he said, as he gestured out to the line of busses loading on the road that ran through Hubbard College grounds and buildings. We were all going to the airport to fly to Spain to meet L Ron Hubbard. “I’m going to a peace conference in China.” Bill Clinton said. He looked my straight in the eye and said “want to come?” For a moment I could have lost my Scientology composure. He saw the look and laughed, “I know you’re off on a great adventure.” I smiled and shook his hand again and grabbed my bags and went to the buss. Many years later, stretched out on a lounge chair about ten yards from the Pacific Ocean. I puffed my cigar. I remembered that moment. I thought that we each have a purpose, a destiny. If I had said yes to Bill and gone with him he might never have become the President of USA. For me to have done that would have made me really dumb.

So many years later to observe so much that has happened to America and the world. This current President George Bush so hated by the left just before the mid elections in October 2006. Yet in my thoughts I see a gleam in his eye when I picture him in my mind and George thinking: ‘ there must be something that I can do that would change everything people think bad about me.’. ‘There must be something I can do to restore my popularity.’ And then it came to him, the thoughts, ‘I can legalize Marijuana.” He smiled. ‘That;s probably one of the greatest things that I can do for America.’ Nobody will believe it but I’ll do it. ‘It will be a boost for the economy. Hemp production will save trees, make paper even oil.’ I’ll get them to regulate pot. It is about time the government made sense out of this or some Democrat will do it for sure. I don’t know if Dad will like this. He thinks use is abuse. I have to go sell it to Dick Cheney first.’ In my thoughts I saw him head out the door. With a purpose you can change destiny

and I always thought that a one time general amnesty for all non violent crimes would do the trick. The only party that will be able to pull off the legalization of weed would be the republican party, I think, Just as it was the only party that could achieve genuine peace with the Soviets.

with potheads and the younger voters. It's hard to believe that change could occur is a second, but it can. Conservatives don't want change. Liberal left want chaos. No solutions there.

would be disenfranchised. If he did this he would gain those voters that you mentioned, yes, but the ultra die hard christians would have a hissy fit, no doubt. I think that it might be a net gain in the end though especially if he could convince those people to vote. They are probably the most under represented portion of the population at the voting booths, but doing this and accompanying it with the message that yes, your government does represent you, so please vote, might do the trick. Still I wonder what would the disenfranchised paleo conservatives do? Probably form a third party? That would be ok with me. I'd hate them to turn into suicide bombers or something like that.

Today is also very windy in this valley which make them dangerous and unpredictale. For me, so far, it's ok.

I really enjoyed this article, sort of opens up his options...ha ha ha!!!
You can bet they would legalize hate,and they will, as soon as they can tax it!
I don't hate Mr. Bush but I sure do despise what he has done...a premptive strike based on a false premise; THAT IS CALLED BULLYING. What's coming because of it is dreadful (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction). That principle applies to more than math and chemistry.

When you mention what is coming because of the preemptive strike, I think that it has come already. U.S. is engaged in the ME, has been for a long time. When ME clerics in the mosques, ME heads of state, pals, call and demand the destruction of the country of Israel, the death of all the Jews and the destruction of USA so that they can loot, rape and slave our children, these people are being very clear. They say it over and over. Anyone can see the violence from their fervor. Yes, USA fights it. Call it what you will. You are free to do so. There are 56 Muslim conference nations in the UN that all have an agenda of hate. Love, sweet love, will have to wait.
