|LOST TRIBE, Wandering's ...: Sophmore builds model hydrogen car.|

...no-one's assassinated the kid, yet?
(I'm sorry, I should look on the bright side, I know.)
I posted this article on another site and someone depressingly wrote :
"There is nothing new or really interesting in this project - all known elements. Such schemes for using solar energy to break water into oxigen and hydrogen have been proposed... problem is solar energy has very low energy to be meaningful any way you use it.
Hydrogen is just an energy carrier, and producing it takes energy. If you want to build transportation system based on hydrogen, its generation will take plenty of power, so most likely only nuclear plants will be able to supply it. Which is fine with me - I really see no other way around this.
So the kid is not missing anything - anyone familiar with high school physics could build such a model."

Too bad the commenter didnt know that we have solar cells that are 50 times more efficiant than the photovokaic solar cells, he hasnt seen the melding of sciences, and fuels we can use, like alcohals , and sure its all old tech with a new twist, and as things evolove in that tech, efficancy will grow, weights will become less, soon producing hydrogen on the fly will surpass the amounts needed to operate a conventional engine, as well having a small hydrogen production unit at home, you will have plenty of fuel. Solar and wind power has come a long way in efficancy, so your commentor is wrong, because, he/she is looking at it being proffitable for someone to mass produce with commercily generated power. The deal is to do it on your own, no transport costs, and with the new tech of useing a blacklight to seperate the hydrogen from the oxygen, you don't need, mega voltages to do that. The fact that you could add duturium sulphate to the water, makeing heavy water with 4 times the hydrogen content, it can be highly efficiant. And it can all be done with solar/wind and stored and made at home and on the fly.

awesome slap in the face proof! great article

You have expressed that there arw much energy in our body. it is logic that shoulbe useful sicew we are alive.could it be possible when we are dead?
5 Mar 2006 @ 14:44 by Zon @18.104.22.168 : Hydrogen Model Car
The article is very misleading!!! All the guy did was build a car kit available online from http://www.discoverthis.com/fuelcelcaran.html
5 Mar 2006 @ 17:46 by bushman : Hmm, Zon,
The original artical said:
"Sophomore Micah Hinton uses a syringe to add distilled water to the tank of a hydrogen-powered car. He designed the car at Southwest Open School in Cortez."
So you think the artical was missleading, but it says "He designed the car" So now the question is, did he design the car, or buy the kit, or did he sell his design to the company that makes the kits?
