Stars in our eyes? More on the question: 'Are we ready for the Cosmos?' 2 comments

I've gotten several fascinating comments on various blogs that receive the feed of One Seeker's Journey via RSS. On one, I got the comment, roughly paraphrased, that unless we clean up our act on Earth, we will never reach the stars. while I certainly agree with his sentiment that we need to take care of our own world, my own belief is that in the next few hundred years, we will go to the stars regardless of whether we deserve to or not.

This will happen unless one of two things occurs:

  • We destroy ourselves
  • Someone "out there" intervenes to prevent us.  Read More

I was struck yesterday, by the way things seem to fit together - for better or for worse. I had an interesting thread of synchronicities over the weekend, involving dreams, a Minnesota Orchestra concert, and an earthquake in Hawaii.  Read More

I read something pretty spooky in Whitley's Journal: Was 911 a Hoax?, on his Unknown Country website.

The article referenced a posting in yahoo News: "Experts Claim Official 9/11 Story is a Hoax"
The spookiest appears to be that these are not "fringe believers", but academics - normally relatively conservative types - who are casting doubt on the official 9/11 story.

I can only wonder, where is all this leading?

An interesting article on Whitley Striber's Unknown Country website about the sate of Vermont: Will Vermont Secede from the Union?.

More on this from a Google search: "The Republic of Vermont"
Some really interesting results. A lot of political discontent.
I looked through one major website:

It'll be interesting to consider the implications of this. If Vermont were to secede from the union, then would the US have to militarily occupy Vermont, as they did the southern states 140 years ago? The ramifications are astounding...  Read More

     Seth Shostak's Glass House1 comment

A couple of days after watching CNN: The Great UFO Debate, I read with amusement, Seth Shostak's article in the SETI Thusrday tab on the website. It was also entitled: "The Great UFO Debate" and in both cases, he decries what he claims is the lack of evidence for UFO's. He essentially demands that proof be waved in his face before he will accept any UFOlogical evidence as valid.

In his article, he says that "UFO Believers" who demand that he do his own investigation before making this claim are treating him unfairly. It reminded me of the proverb "People who live in glass houses should not throw stones".  Read More

I just got done reading Whitley Strieber's new journal entry: "The Year of the Death Wish." And it is a chilling read. Unfortunately, I beleive it is all too accurate. Read it and cringe. And then act your conscience...  Read More

Earlier in my log, I wrote a short piece entitled "Richard M. Dolan - UFOs and the National Security State". An interesting entry in Whitley Striebers Unknown Country today entitled "UFO Secrecy & the Death of the American Republic". This article pretty much describes Dolan's views of the decline of the US republic, and the rise of the American Empire.

Here is the Link to the article itself. Note: This is part 1 of 2. Stay tuned...

I was struck in the last couple of days between the correspondence of recent events, and the passage in the book of Matthew - Mt 24:6-8.

In the NIV Bible this passage reads as follows:
"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains."  Read More

"We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the very first time."

I spent a wonderful weekend going back to my roots - attending a retreat with a Christian group in which I used to be very active. It was very interesting to see how much they, and I, had changed during the years I had been absent.  Read More
